Zarina Mir Wilson an S3 Holyrood pupil was at the launch and donation of iconic photographs to Caledonian University by the family of Italian born Scottish photographer, Oscar Marzaroli on Monday. Monday was the 31st anniversary of his death. The celebrated photographer’s family have kindly donated 50,000 images to be archived and made freely available online.
The black and white pictures document the lives of ordinary people in Gorbals and Scotland became synonymous with 1960’s Glasgow. A selection of original prints developed by Marzaroli himself are being auctioned to help raise funds so the archiving of this collection can take place.
It was nice that a pupil from Holyrood was part of the celebrations in celebrating his life and work.
